MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHERE OUR MEMBERS TELL US IT MATTERS

We are committed to making a difference where our members tell us it really matters.

The BID’s key objectives are:

BETTER PROMOTION

Helping to retain and attract new footfall

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Improve the environment

A COLLECTIVE VOICE

To influence and stimulate change

A SUSTAINABLE BUDGET

Spent locally

CLEANSING

Harrow Council have committed £87,000 per annum to improve the cleansing of the town centre under our direction.

Street Works

STREET WORKS

We are helping to ensure that street works are managed effectively and, wherever possible, do not adversely affect day-to-day trading in the town centre or the people who work and live here.

Parking

PARKING

In partnership with the Council and car park owners, we are pressing for improvements in the provision of town centre car parking.

THE RETAIL MIX

We are undertaking research to develop a future positioning for the town centre. Working with owners, agents and the Council, our aim is to develop a mix of shops, restaurants, leisure facilities, offices and alternative users to reflect the evolving face of the UK High Street.

The Evening Economy

THE EVENING ECONOMY

We are seeking to create a more vibrant evening economy for the benefit of all, by delivering greater synergy between offices, shops, restaurants, bars and local entertainment venues.

Landscaping

LANDSCAPING

In conjunction with Harrow Council the BID helps to ensure that the Town Centre is a pleasant place to work, shop and relax by keeping trees neatly trimmed, reporting broken paving, and attending meetings to discuss new initiatives.

Ambassadors

AMBASSADOR

Our ambassador regularly visits businesses to deliver our newsletter and provide updates on up coming events.  She can help by taking pictures of any store promotions and sharing them on our social media channels.  She also collects feedback from businesses regarding any problems they wish the BID to help with.

Festive Lights

FESTIVE LIGHTS

The BID organises the installation of a large Christmas Tree and festive lighting, with the lights usually being switched on during October to celebrate Diwali, and the tree arriving in November.  Traditionally on the last Saturday of November we organise an event to celebrate switching the Christmas tree lights on which involves local performers, Santa’s Grotto, musical acts on stage and ending with a spectacular firework display launched from the roof of St George’s shopping centre.
